Gas Prices Down A Dollar A Gallon Since Last Year

According to Triple AAA President Richard Jacobs, gas prices are down one dollar a gallon from this time last year.

The prices are up 30 cents from last month but overall people are more enthusiastic about traveling thanks to the lower prices.

"It costs like half the price to fill up my car. So that's a big positive especially driving 200 miles to Long Island," said Binghamton University graduate Peter Sherman.

"Well we certainly appreciate lower gas prices, we all do. I didn't realize it was a whole dollar less than last year at this time," said Owego resident Debbie Siemer.

Jacobs says that gas prices could fluctuate throughout the summer, but with any luck there won't be a significant spike, making road trips easier on your wallet.
