Unemployment Numbers Remain the Same in New York
Thursday, May 21, 2015 11:02 PM EDT
According to the department of labor, The State of New York added more than 126,000 private sector jobs over the past year.
However from March of 2015 to April of 2015, the unemployment rate for the state remained unchanged at 5.7%, which is still at it's lowest since August of 2008.
Early estimates have the Binghamton area at a slight decline in job counts.
Regional Labor Market Analyst, Christian Harris says that the leisure and hospitality is a little softer than normal in this area, which could be due to cold temperatures in April.
The state has added 626,100 private sector jobs and showed employment growth in 45 of the last 52 months.
