Two Brooklyn Men Charged with Using Counterfeit Credit Cards, Chased By Police

Two Brooklyn men are in jail for allegedly using counterfeit credit cards. Both were taken into custody after being chased by multiple police officers by car in the Vestal area.

22-year-old Junior Joseph and 19-year-old Johnathan Grant are charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, a class D felony.

Vestal police were notified by merchants that two males were purchasing multiple gift cards with many different credit cards. Vestal police first approached the vehicle in the Parkway Plaza parking lot but the driver sped of onto the Vestal Parkway.

The suspects fled the Vestal police and the Binghamton University Police--both of which had to call off the chase based on the suspect's reckless driving

Members of the US Marshalls Fugitive Task Force in the area detained the men after a Binghamton police patrol Sgt. noticed the suspect vehicle abandoned.

The vehicle the men were driving was determined to have been rented in New York City using several counterfeit credit cards.

Both suspects are in the Broome County Jail.
