Binghamton University Graduates Doctoral and Masters Students

A weekend of graduation festivities kicked off this afternoon at Binghamton University, with the commencement of the school's master's and doctoral students this afternoon.

Over the course of this weekend BU will graduate more than 3,400 students with bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees.

Each school and college, along with the three divisions of the Harpur College of Arts and Sciences will hold its own ceremony.

President Harvey Stenger says he has a simple message for this graduating class.

"We will miss you. I think that's the thing that gets me the most is you say goodbye to students who started here when I started here. Four years ago I got on campus and so did they. This is my first group that I've seen the whole way," said BU President Harvey Stenger.

This afternoon, close to 750 masters candidates crossed the stage, and 88 doctoral candidates were hooded.
