Seven Creative ME Students Head for Odyssey of the Mind World Finals

Seven bright young minds will be taking their talents and their teamwork to a world championship competition.

A group of Maine-Endwell High School students are heading to Lansing, Michigan to compete in the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals taking place May 20th-23rd on the campus of Michigan State University.

Odyssey of the Mind is a competition that forces students to think creatively in problem solving opportunities. This year, the group built two vehicles--one water propelled vehicle and one electromagnetic car.

Team members say it's been a long time coming, and they may be a little nervous--but they are so excited to be heading to the world championships.

"I've gained so much experience working with people as a team and working with electrical and technical stuff," said Melanie
Lyons, M-E Odyssey of the Mind Team Member.

"We just all work together and have a lot of fun and you can just express your creativity," said Chris Card, another team member.

The group has set up a go fund me page to help offset the cost of travel--so if you're interested in supporting the team you can head to Maine Endwell's website at: me.stier.org.
