Vestal Central School District Holds Public Hearing on Budget
The board of the Vestal Central School District has laid out its plan for the 2015-2016 budget to the public.
The meeting took place Tuesday in the Clayton Avenue Elementary School.
The over $75 million budget would go towards a small capital project at Clayton Avenue Elementary: to replace flooring, address safety needs and upgrade the hot water system.
The budget also allocates funds for the replacement of six buses and one suburban style van. Officials say it's been a tough year, but they're proud to be able to present a budget that will maintain essential programs while lowering taxes.
"We do not have a reduction in force, and I do believe we have a fiscally responsible budget that we're taking to the public," Mark LaRoach, Superintendent of the Vestal Central School District.
