Bearcats still riding high following AEast Title win

The Binghamton University Bearcats softball team won three straight games, two of which were against top seeded Stony Brook on Saturday, to bring home the schools first ever America East Title. The season continues for the Bearcats with their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Following Sunday's Selection Show, BU will now travel to Harrisonburg, VA for the regional hosted by James Madison University. The four team regional also includes Fordham and NC State. Like the America East Tournament, this regional is also double elimination.

Despite a lot of preparations to be made on and off the field this week, the Bearcats are still enjoying the moment of being America East Champs.

"Everytime we drive past that sign in the front of the school saying 'America East Champions' its a great feeling and it never gets old," said Sydney Harbaugh, junior outfielder. "Every few minutes we're like 'hey guys, remember that time we won the America East Championship, like just the other day?' So I don't think we've come down at all and that's a great place to be right now."

"We're all still really excited," said Caytlin Friis, senior shortstop. "I think it finally kinda just hit us that we won the tournament. We're all really excited to be heading to James Madison. It's a good feeling."

BU plays JMU Friday at 4:30.
