2nd Annual Gators on the Green Golf Tournament

Community members are teeing up to help support zoo animals.

Today more than 15-teams came out for the 2nd annual Gators on the Green Tournament held at Ely Golf Course in Binghamton. Prices were 75-dollars per person...
Registration included access to things like an 18-hole round of golf with the cart provided, refreshments, a catered dinner, gift bags, raffles, team photos and awards.
The Zoomobile also made an appearance with some animals -- including the zoo's newest addition -- a 6 month old alligator! Organizers say today's event is a great opportunity for adults to enjoy the nice weather for a good cause.

"It's important that we cater towards adults as well because they grew up here. They grew up riding the train that is famous at the Ross Park Zoo and people in the community grew up going to the Ross Park Zoo and they want to see us thrive and they want to see us successful, so giving events like this gives them the chance to come out and support us," said public relations and development coordinator at the Binghamton Zoo Rachel Davenport.

Today’s event helped to raise more than four-thousand-dollars which will help support animal care, conservation and educational programs at the Binghamton Zoo.
