Early Mother's Day Celebration At Broome Senior Center
It's not Mother's Day yet but that didn't keep some from celebrating at the Broome West Senior Center Friday.
To honor Mothers, all the women at the celebration received a rose. An accordion player played polka music, and attendees had a choice of a fish or chicken meal. Hilda Ciotoli says that she enjoys coming to the senior center every day and that she likes to dance.
Broome County resident Hilda Ciotoli said, "Well everybody here is like family. We all sit at the same table otherwise we'd be at home sitting alone. So we come here and eat with each other and we call ourselves family."
Hilda is visiting her family on Mother's Day in Castle Creek. She has three children, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She says that being a Mother is one of the things she is most proud of in life.
