Norwich Woman in Custody After Police Say She Robbed Two Banks
A Norwich woman is in custody after police say she's responsible for a pair of bank robberies.
The first robbery happened Friday afternoon around 4 o'clock at the People's National Bank at 1026 Conklin Road. Police say 36 year old Jamie Blewett of Norwich was wearing a dark brown wig when she robbed the bank.
Immediately after the robbery police say Blewett was driving a silver minivan heading towards Binghamton on Conklin Ave. They say a Trooper spotted the vehicle near the corner of Conklin and Tompkins Avenues shortly after the robbery and Blewett was taken into custody.
Now police say Friday's robbery was very similar to last Friday's robbery at the People's National Bank on Upper Front Street in the Town of Chenango. Police say Blewett was responsible for both of these bank robberies. She's being held in the Broome County jail without any bail being set.
