Fire Heavily Damages Endicott Home

A home was heavily damaged by fire this afternoon in the village of Endicott.
Crews responded to 407 West Franklin Street at around 2:00pm.
Endicott Fire Chief Joseph Griswold said some firefighters went to the back of the building to combat the exterior fire while others went inside the building.
Griswold said that neither of the two residents were home at the time of the fire and that he believes the family dog ran out the door when fire crews arrived on scene.

Endicott Fire Chief Joseph Griswold said, "When we got here there was heavy fire in the rear of the building. It appears to have started on the back porch but we're not sure of that at this time. We had fire on all three floors, fire got into the attic. First floor, second floor, and heavy fire in the attic."

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
