Bearcats peaking at the right time

It's not how you start, it's how you finish. The BU Bearcats softball team started the season 12-12 before their first home game, but ended the season winning seven of their last nine, including back-to-back walk offs in Game Two of Friday's doubleheader against Maine, and again on Saturday.

Entering their third consecutive America East Tournament and fourth in the last five years, the Bearcats are playing their best softball of the year at the right time.

"Even though Saturday wasn't a game that mattered as far as getting into the tournament, we were kind of playing it like it was all or nothing. I think they did a really good job of just finishing that game and I think it's definitely going to give us some good momentum into next week."
"I think a huge part of it is, we're having fun and we're having fun together as a team. We've done a really good job of cheering every pitch, every play, just making sure we're always in it."

This year's tournament will be played at top seed Stony Brook. BU takes on Albany on Thursday at 3:30. BU is 1-2 against the Great Danes this year.
