Purple Toilet Gains Support for American Cancer Society

A new lawn ornament is making its way around Binghamton and it's not your typical one!

Wednesday, Seton Catholic High school students placed a purple toilet on their principal's lawn -- all in an effort to raise awareness and donations for the american cancer society and to kick off this year's relay for life.

The toilet symbolizes the goal of "flushing" - or putting an end - to cancer. The toilet is placed on different lawns.

The homeowners then donate to the American Cancer Society to have the toilet removed and placed on someone else's lawn!

Seton Catholic High School Senior Granville Moore said," The purple toilet last year was a blast everyone loved it. Everyone was trying to get it on a friends lawn.

Seton Catholic Principal Richard Bucci said, "The important thing though is people are going to ask questions what is this all about. The students are going to be putting up a sign explaining what the purple toilet is what its all about. The bottom line here is whats its doing and Its raising money for our Relay for Life at Catholic Central."

Seton Catholic Central will host it's 3rd relay for life May 15th and 16th.
over the past few years seton students have raised more than $30,000 for Relay for Life.

Their goal this year is to raise $18,000.
