Former WNBA Star Delivers Message at Binghamton University

Current ESPN analyst and former WNBA basketball player Rebecca Lobo spoke at Binghamton University to celebrate women's athletics on campus.

This is the 10th year of the luncheon event that raises funds for scholarships awarded to female student-athletes.

More than 500 guests attended to listen to Lobo speak about her experiences as a college basketball champion at the University of Connecticut and winning the gold medal in the 1996 Olympics.

"I've gotten the chance to do a large number of pretty extraordinary things that I'm going to talk to the people about all because of basketball and these things that I never thought would be possible when I was a young kid growing up. I played basketball because I loved it," said Former WNBA Star Rebecca Lobo.

"I think its awesome that we are able to bring her to Binghamton and she has a great personality. She's going to connect with the young kids today and with my players as well," said Binghamton Women's Basketball Coach Linda Cimino.

Since 2006, the luncheon has raised more than $180,000 for scholarships.
