Fight Against Heroin Epidemic Continues with "Binghamton Heroin Awareness Night"
As Broome County continues to fight the heroin epidemic, parents, police, and community leaders are working to raise awareness.
At Tuesday night's "Binghamton Heroin Awareness Night" at SUNY Broome, local residents will hear from those personally effected by the drug as well as law enforcement and others who are leading the charge to make the heroin epidemic a thing of the past.
"I'mdopewithoutdope" co-founder, Joe Gonzalez says, "Everybody sees it and they don't believe it could happen to them until it happens to them. Everybody has an opinion, your opinion is only valid if you get off the couch and be proactive in battling this and helping battle."
The heroin awareness night is open to all Broome County residents and will be held at SUNY Broome's west gym.
Doors open at 6:30 with the program beginning at 7.
