Pet Expo Comes to Binghamton

The Holiday Inn Binghamton is going wild!

Equinox Broadcasting sponsored their second annual Pet Expo Sunday.

More than 1,500 people came out to the Expo which featured more than 40 vendors supplying tons of entertainment for pet lovers of all ages.
There were animals from the Ross Park Zoo and folks even got the chance to adopt a new pet!

More than 1,200 pounds of dog food was donated which will be given to six local animal shelters.

"People love pets. I think they love pets more than they like some of their family members, so this is a very easy event to put on. A Pet Expo is a hit and especially with the kids too," said President and CEO of Equinox Broadcasting George Hawras.

Organizers held a "Cute Dog" contest where Mick & Mason from the Johnny Hart family chose one dog to be featured in their "Dogs of C-Kennel" comic strip. And this year's winner was a dog named Atticus.
