Earth Day: BU Students and Faculty Hold Climate Change Panel

According to NASA, 2014 was the hottest year on record since 1880.

Statistics like this are why Binghamton University students and faculty held an event tonight to raise awareness about climate change for the 45th anniversary of Earth Day.

The main topic of tonight's discussion was the state's new initiative "Reforming Energy Vision" which is administrated by the Public Service Commission.

Individuals are encouraged to voice their concerns for where they'd like the state to focus when it comes to renewable energy.

"We see first hand the melting of glaciers you can see the rising sea levels, you can see the draught in California, all of the snow that was dumped this winter in Boston. The climate is changing," said Jackson Haskell, Event Coordinator.
