Prince happy with his time in Binghamton

Binghamton may have seen the last of Shane Prince, at least in a Senators jersey. The 22-year-old forward has played in Binghamton for the last three years and enters the offseason as a Restricted Free Agent. A native of Rochester, it would make sense for him to sign with the Buffalo Sabres and, if he's unable to make the Sabres roster, play in his hometown with the Americans. Not to mention, Sabres GM Tim Murray drafted Prince when Murray was with Ottawa.

That being said, whether we've seen the last of Prince or not, he's pleased with his time in Binghamton.

"The ultimate goal is to get to the NHL and that's what this league's for is for players to develop and get to that league," Prince said. "But I've loved my time in Binghamton. We have a great rink, great fan base. The city's fun, it's a great hockey city and that's all you can ask for. I had a good time here for three years. Who knows what the future holds?"

Prince is currently in Ottawa with the Senators on their playoff practice squad. The Senators face elimination on Wednesday as they take on the Montreal Canadiens down three games to none.
