Greek Yogurt to be Available in School Lunches
Tuesday, April 21, 2015 6:38 PM EDT
Greek yogurt will be available in school lunches nation-wide starting this fall.
The USDA has officially added greek yogurt to it's list of items available in the school lunch program.
A pilot program tested the product in twelve states beginning in March of 2014. New York producers Chobani and Upstate Niagara have provided yogurt during the pilot program.
According to Senator Charles Schumer other New York companies that may benefit from the expansion of the program include Fage, Alpina, and Muller-Quaker.
