Hundreds Raise More than $2,500 in Pink Elk 5K

Another run going on Sunday morning -- The Pink Elk 5K. It's the second annual Pink Elk 5K put together by the Vestal Elks Veteran's Committee, Ross Corners Baptist Church and the Western Broome Relay for Life.

With more than 180 participants raising more than $2,500, proceeds will help benefit Traci's Hope.

Traci's Hope is a non-profit organization that helps pay for common expenses for those receiving treatment for breast cancer in the Southern Tier and Pennsylvania.

"Runners are experiencing pain, but I suspect it's little compared to what Traci or other women who are going through breast cancer experience on a daily basis," said co-organizer of Pink Elk 5K Jeff Schrecentost.

After the race, participants were invited to enjoy an after party at the Vestal Elks Lodge.
