Ross Park Zoo Opens

Binghamton's Ross Park Zoo is now open!

Saturday, the zoo kicked off the grand opening for its 140th season.
The zoo had been closed over the winter months from December until April.
Hundreds of people showed up to check out the animals. Congressman Richard Hanna and Binghamton Mayor Rich David even visited to kick off the opening, and they were joined by some special guests... two of the zoo's penguins!

"I think the best way to describe it is a true, natural hidden treasure. We are very fortunate to have one of the oldest zoos in the country here in the city of Binghamton," said Binghamton Mayor Rich David.
"I want to congratulate everyone here, the board members, the staff. It is a beautifully-well maintained zoo. Get out here and support it and take advantage of it," said U.S. Congressman Richard Hanna.

The zoo will now be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission is seven-dollars for adults and $5 for children.
