Volunteers of America Dedicate Their Memorial Garden

The spirit of pride is in full bloom at Volunteers of America in Binghamton.

On Friday the VOA held a ceremony for the dedication of their veteran memorial garden. Volunteers and residents worked together to plant shrubs, construct raised garden beds, plant flowers, and piece together the memorial garden.
One resident says that this gives him a real sense of pride for his shelter.

VOA resident Yul Vueno-Villaman said, "It makes me really proud of what I'm doing because I'm a nature type of person and I like seeing stuff grow from the beginning and come what they're supposed to become.

The VOA has been serving the Binghamton area since 1896, they provide supportive housing for homeless veterans and other homeless individuals.
