A Tribute to the Former Semi-Pro Triple Cities Jets
A new display at the Double Tree Hotel in Binghamton pays tribute to our area's former semi-pro football team. The Triple Cities Jets was founded in 1970 by owner, and head coach Ray Stanton.
The TC-Jets built a stadium in 1978 on the vacant site in downtown Binghamton, which is now the site of the Double Tree Hotel. The display is in the main lobby making it one of the first things people see when walking in the building.
Former TC-Jets player Alvin Aery said, "And now we have an opportunity to have our legacy remembered by everybody who walks through these doors and it's good for us."
In it's first three years the TC-Jets had a record of 39 wins, two losses and two championships.
