If you're in the market for buying a new home, you may be in luck.

Binghamton Mayor Rich David announced details of the city's first-time home buyer program, which aims to help first-time buyers purchase a home.
The program will provide up to five thousand dollars for closing costs, twenty thousand dollars towards rehabilitation for a two-family home, and forty thousand dollars for rehabilitation of a single family home. David says that a strong community needs quality affordable housing.

Mayor Rich David said, "Now we want people to take pride in their homes, be responsive to the quality and condition of their homes, be responsive to things that are broken to exterior to violations to home looks and the overall upkeep."

Applicants must meet certain guidelines and must also complete a home buyer training course. Residents can apply now, and call 723-0723 for more information.
