Owego's Hathaway makes college choice official

Owego Free Academy Brandon Hathaway signed a national letter of intent this afternoon to attend school and play basketball at Division 2 University of the Sciences in Philadelphia . Hathaway plans to study physical therapy.

Academically at OFA, Hathaway:
* Is a member and vice president National Honor Society
* He is in the top 10 percent of his class
* He is the recipient of the Gaffney Scholarship
* He is a member of the Athletic Leadership Council at OFA

Hathaway’s basketball accomplishments:
* 4-year varsity starter
* All-Division STAC as a sophomore
* All-Conference STAC as a junior and as a senior
* Three-time Stars and Stripes all-star
* Third-ranked all-time scorer in OFA boys basketball history
* 2014-15 Section 4 all-star
* 2014-15 Class A Section 4 Player of the Year
The University of the Sciences is a member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). The men’s basketball team finished with a 25-6 record in 2014-15, the second-highest win total in school history, and earned a first-ever NCAA playoff berth. The University of the Sciences reached the East Regional semifinals before losing to Southern New Hampshire 59-53.
