New Attorney for Maine Man Accused of Killing Common-Law Wife
The Town of Maine man accused of killing his common law wife was given a new public defender Wednesday.
33-year-old Michael Fiocco is charged with 2nd degree murder for the asphyxiation of 34-year-old Shannon Laskaris at the couple's home in the early afternoon of December 19th. At the time of the alleged killing police said there had been several calls to that residence, including one the day before Laskaris' death.
The substitution of council took place because there was a conflict of interest with the public defender. The defense's motions are due May 19th.
Fiocco has pleaded not guilty in Laskaris' death. He is being held in Broome County Jail without Bail.
