State Police: DA Still Investigating Elementary School Abuse Allegation
By Fox 40 Staff. The Vestal School District says a teacher involved in an alleged incident of abuse at the Tioga Hills Elementary school in March has been exonerated.
This, though, as the New York State Police still say Wednesday the case is being actively investigated by the Tioga County District Attorney's Office. The charge comes after a parent says her 10-year-old son was forcibly removed from a class by his teacher on March 17th and suffered a separated shoulder as a result.
A spokesperson for the State Police says the barracks in Owego has turned it's investigation over to the DA's office which, again, is still actively investigating the case. Superintendent Mark LaRoach sent a letter Monday to Tioga Hills parents saying the teacher has been exonerated. He is refusing further comment due to possible legal ramifications since the family of the student has retained a lawyer.
