Bike Drive Coming up Saturday, George F. Johnson Dream Center

With spring weather right around the corner, the George F. Johnson Dream Center is in need of bicycles and helmets.

A bike drive is scheduled for Saturday, May 9th in the UHS Wilson parking lot.

This is the 8th year of the event to help children get to and from youth programs at Sarah Jane Johnson Church and other Johnson City parks.

"Last year, we collected and gave away 230 bikes. We estimate that the community had helped us give away 1,300 reconditioned bicycles and we are getting them in the hands of people who have never owned a bicycle before and may not have if not for this program," said Pastor Patricia Cardin, Founder and Director of the George F. Johnson Dream Center.

Bikes in any condition can be dropped off in the parking lot of Sarah Jane Johnson United Methodist Church Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.
