Souther Tier Alternative Therapies Hold Paddle Party Fundraiser

Posted:
Dogs may be known as man's best friend but according to Southern Tier Alternative Therapies, horses are too.

STAT hosted a Paddle Party Fundraiser which is a type of auction that helped raise money for a program that provides horse riding for children with disabilities. More than fifty people and fifteen vendors came out today to help raise six hundred dollars.

The money goes to provide funding for horse riding at no cost to families.
STAT officials say riding helps build confidence and improve communication within the disabled persons.

Southern Tier Alternative Therapies board member Tina Caswell said, "It helps the children in many ways for some children if they are unable to walk just getting on the horse they get that freedom of having those four legs underneath them and just seeing the world in a whole different place rather than being in a wheelcheair."

Southern Tier Alternative Therapies will hold their annual Drive to Ride golf tournament this September.
