Bearcats rally starts too late in loss to Siena

VESTAL, N.Y.—The Binghamton women's lacrosse team (3-4) could not overcome a slow start, and fell to Siena (4-4) today at the Bearcats Sports Complex by a score of 12-3.

Siena set the tone early, scoring the first three goals of the game, and led 8-1 at the half. The Bearcats' lone goal came off the stick of Renee Kiviat, the first of two for the captain on the day.

Siena led 12-1 at one point, but Binghamton closed the game by scoring the final two goals. First Brianne Arthur scored her eighth goal of the season, and then Kiviat added her second of the game, and ninth of the season.

One positive for Binghamton was the play of freshman goalkeeper Emma Jehle. Jehle entered the game late in the first half, and only allowed four goals for the remainder of the game, while making eight saves.

Binghamton's conference play kicks into gear this Saturday, March 21, when the Bearcats return to action at UMBC. That game is set for a noon start.
