Law Enforcement Officials Hit the Mat for Charity

Posted:
Normally during the day you might see these guys patrolling the streets, but tonight members of Broome County Law Enforcement took on a different kind of challenge.

Tonight at Windsor High School members of law enforcement took on various Windsor residents in a wrestling charity event.
The event, which was put on by the Windsor Youth Sports and Rec Program is all in an attempt to raise enough money to get lights on the girl's softball field, and batting cages at Klumpp Park. Organizers say the turnout was fantastic.

"It's great that a lot of people want to come out and help the kids, so our kids in the community can have what other kids have in different areas. It's funny, who doesn't want to watch a bunch of grown men go out there and embarrass themselves in front of everybody. And everybody knows them so it's humiliating. Everybody likes a little humor," said David Bidwell, a Supervisor with the Broome County Task Force.

The program had sold 100 pre-sale tickets and 130 raffle tickets at the beginning of the event. Many who didn't buy pre-sale tickets did buy tickets at the door for 5 dollars a piece.
