Man Pleads Not Guilty of the Murder of His Girlfriend
Friday, March 13, 2015 9:22 PM EDT
The Town of Maine man accused of killing his common law wife pleaded not guilty Friday in Broome County Court.
33-year-old Michael Fiocco is charged with 2nd degree murder for the asphyxiation of 34-year-old Shannon Laskaris.
Police responded to the couple's mobile home in the early afternoon of December 19th after receiving a 911 call requesting an ambulance to lot #30 at the Nanticoke Valley Trailer Park on Route 26.
Authorities say that once on the scene Fiocco led them to a rear bedroom where Laskaris' body was lying on the floor next to her bed.
At the time of the alleged killing police said there had been several calls to that residence, including one the day before Laskaris' death.
Fiocco is being held in Broome County Jail without bail.
