Binghamton City Democrats are raising money for the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse or CHOW to bring a little awareness to Irish history.

With a breakfast honoring of the upcoming Saint Patrick's holiday -- the group is the shedding light on the Irish Famine.
The famine is described as a major factor in promoting Irish immigration to Binghamton and the world. The breakfast also included dances from members of the Johnson School of Irish Dance.

Binghamton City Democratic Chair Marty Doorey said, "It's a way of starting to rally the troops, get them thinking about campaigning. It's a long way off until November. It's also a great way to celebrate our heritage."

Saturday the group raised $100 for CHOW.
