Free Registration This Weekend for Out of State Snowmobilers

With more than 10,000 miles of snowmobile trails through out New York State Governor Cuomo is looking to boost winter tourism.

The governor is allowing snow mobilers from Canada and out of state explore the trails for free this weekend by waiving registration fees.

President of the Whitney Point Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club Judi Whittaker says that it's important for riders to pay attention to signs to stay safe, and to stay on the right side of the trail as if it were a road.

"It's a great opportunity for families to come out and see different trails. if they're from Pennsylvania we're so close to them, they can come and see where they can go on our trail system. You can ride from our southern borders where we are you could go to Canada if you wanted," said Judi Whittaker President of the Whitney Point Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club.

The snowmobile registration fee for people who live out of state is normally $100.
