Johnson City Middle School Hosts Multi-Culture Day

Ethnic food, music, and games -- those were just some of the events taking place Thursday night at Johnson City Middle School.

Representatives from countries like Honduras, Kurdistan, and Haiti met with students and families, exploring other cultures and demonstrating their own. Some events included a step dance routine, a food tasting station, and a jewelry display. The PTA President said this is a great opportunity to showcase the many cultures within the school.

Stacy Smith, President of Johnson City PTA said, "I think a lot of times in school we focus on academics but tonight we get a chance to focus on our families and our community and bring everybody closer and really celebrate what Johnson City is all about."

It was the second year that JC has hosted the event and they plan on holding events similar to this in the future.
