Lady Bearcats excited to host AEast Tourney

In years past, the America East Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments had been held at Albany. This year, the men's tournament is at the highest seed, the women's tournament is at Binghamton University, with the finals at the highest remaining seed.

The Lady Bearcats may be the lowest seed in the women's tournament, but one thing to not underestimate? Home court advantage.

"It's such a great advantage having home court," said Jasmine Sina, freshman point guard. "We practice on here everyday. I think having the crowd behind us, we're going to have a lot of fans, a lot of support behind our backs and that makes such a difference playing that game, having that extra adrenaline rush from the crowd."

"When you walk into an opponent's gym, I always feel you're down 7-0 from the start," said Head Coach Linda Cimino. "So, for me playing at home is so important. It's our surroundings, it's our locker room, it's our fans, it's our court, it's our rims, and we don't have to take a nine hour bus ride. To me that's the most important thing is the sleep. They're sleeping in their own beds, they can eat in the cafeteria. We can keep it as normal a routine as possible."

BU takes on top seeded Maine on Saturday at noon at the Events Center.
