Two Chenango County men are behind bars after authorities say they found heroin in their vehicle during a traffic stop.
John Tipler, 50 and Brandon Birch, 27 were pulled over by Chenango County Sheriff's deputies just after 11 a.m. Friday.
Deputies say they found a lock box containing about $1,000 worth of heroin.
Police say Birch attempted to flee the area after being stopped.
Tipler and Birch were arraigned in the Town of Afton Court and remanded to the Chenango County jail on $25,000 cash bail.
The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
