Mayor David Files Motion to Have Lawsuit Dismissed

Binghamton Mayor Rich David has filed a motion to have a lawsuit that was filed against him dismissed.

The suit was filed by WBNG employee Daisy Dawson last month alleging that David abused his position as the Binghamton Mayor.

It claims that on January 1st at the bar Social on the State, David's girlfriend Erica Aminalee hit Dawson over the head with a glass causing significant injuries. The suit claims that David, a former WBNG employee, approached her bosses and applied pressure on the station to have Dawson stop cooperating with police regarding an ongoing assault and battery investigation against his girlfriend.

According to the Mayor's attorney Kurt Schrader, the motion was filed yesterday at the county clerk's office on the basis of a failure to state a cause of action and that a supplied affidavit establishes beyond dispute that the plaintiff is not entitled to a remedy.
