Ross Park Zoo Celebrates Valentine's Day after Feb 14

Valentine's Day continues.

Sunday the Ross Park Zoo hosted their final day of touring... it's part of their annual Courtship Tails.

The adult-only event highlights animal mating rituals while giving couples escorted tours to see the different animals.

Rachel Davenport, Special Events and Media Relations Assistant said, "It's a very fun, unique event because our tour guides talk about mating and the courtship behaviors of animals, and so if people come they can get very surprised about the facts that are spewed off by our tour guides, so it's a lot of fun."

Ian Jenson, Education Program Specialist said, "It is quite interesting. It is really fun to talk about something that most people either don't think of or don't necessarily want to think of, quite frankly, animal sex, courtship and mating.

Each couple was given a professional portrait, bottle of wine, and a $40 gift card to local restaurant Michaelangelo's.
