Southern Tier Farmers Pleased with Money to Preserve Farmland
$30 million to preserve farmland is on its way to the Southern Tier if the legislature approves the Governor's agenda.
According to Southern Tier farmers, that money will go a long way in ensuring that the region's farms stay intact.
Apple Hills Owner Dave Johnson says he's glad the Governor is putting an emphasis on the agriculture industry which plays an important role in New York State's economy.
Owner of Apple Hills, Dave Johnson says,hear something being infused in the Southern Tier. It seems that the Southern Tier as a whole has been ignored by Albany. So farmers are very appreciative that the governor knows we're here and once we find out what the details are we can work with him," said Johnson.
Johnson also says that an important element in growing the area's agriculture industry is making sure the Southern Tier's economy is thriving.
