New "Items of Interest" in Clayton Murder

Police say they have found new items of interest in the Steuben County murder of Kelley Clayton.

Her husband, Thomas Clayton, is the Binghamton native charged in her death. According to the Steuben County Sheriff's Office deputies have searched the area of Grand Central Avenue in Elmira Heights and near Hall Street in Elmira and said items of interest were found in each location.

Sheriff's deputies say over 285 leads have been investigated at this point. Kelley Clayton was found dead at her Town of Caton home on September 29th. Thomas Clayton is currently out on bail but had to surrender his passport and submit a DNA sample to police. Another man, 44-year-old Michael Beard is also charged with 2nd-degree murder in the case.
