B-Mets look to clinch series win over Bowie

Posted:
For weeks, B-Mets manager Pedro Lopez has said "from here on out, every game is a playoff game." This week, that could not be more true. The B-Mets host the Bowie Baysox for a three game set, already having won the opener 8-2 on Tuesday night.

The B-Mets are in first place in the Eastern Division with the Baysox in first place in the Western Division and owners of the best record in the Eastern League. There's a lot of baseball to be played still, but if things pan out the way they look now, this could be a preview of the Eastern League Championship Series.

"We've got good things going against that team," said Josh Rodriguez who his a grand slam against Bowie on Tuesday. "They're also in first place and it'll definitely give us a good look, if we make that playoff push and make the playoffs it'll give us a good look at what we'll possibly be facing."

"I've been saying all along, it doesn't matter who we play, whether it's Portland or it's Erie we just have to win as many games as we can win," said Lopez. "But, it's nice to come out and have the kind of game we had last night. Bowie, they're in first place and if we do end up going with them to the Championship Series it's always good to play well against a team like that."

The B-Mets and Baysox play at 6:35 on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
