Details of Tioga Downs' second bid for a southern tier casino license are coming to light. The State Gaming Commission released a number of documents Tueday.
Tioga Downs is proposing a $195 million project it says will create 560 new jobs to bring the venue's total to 1,100 employees. Tioga downs in Nichols and Traditions in Johnson City lost out to Lago resort in the town of Tyre for a casino license last year.
At the urging of Governor Cuomo, the Gaming Commission re-opened the bidding for a Southern Tier casino. Tioga downs is the only bidder. The gaming commission will announce whether it will grant a license in the fall.
