B-Sens looking to get back on track

As good as 2014 ended for the B-Sens with three straight wins, the start of 2015 has been the exact opposite. The team has 5 straight losses and has been outscored 25-8 in that stretch.

For a team that was second in the division, they're back down to fourth. That's not a good way to start a new year hoping to wipe away the memory of back-to-back first round playoff exits by making a run at the Calder Cup. In this week in practice, it was time to go back to basics.

"We came out of the holidays feeling good. It's a young team and we got three good wins, and then we just got stale. We had the one flat game where we were all flat in Wilkes-Barre and it seemed to have put us in a tailspin where we're panicking a bit in the D-zone and just not confident in the offensive zone. So, what we did this week was just break it right down to basics and get back to the d-zone coverage, some battle drills, and some straight line shooting and passing. Just get back to the basics and get a couple goals early in the game, get our confidence going, defend well and get that first win back in the win column in the new year," said Head Coach Luke Richardson.

B-Sens host the Syracuse Crunch tonight as Todd Bertuzzi is set to make his AHL Debut.
