The State Gaming Commission is actively considering the request from Governor Cuomo to grant a fourth upstate license to a location in the Southern Tier.
This according to a spokesperson for the Gaming Commission. Cuomo wrote the Commission after local officials expressed their displeasure that the area was shut out of a license.
Since that announcement Traditions at the Glen in Johnson City has thrown it's support behind Tioga Downs' bid to get the license. There is no timetable on the Commission's review but it does have a regularly scheduled meeting the fourth Monday of every month. The next one will be January 26th.
