Binghamton University's Pharmacy School may not be complete yet but it already has a leader.

On Tuesday, the university's president announced that Gloria E. Meredith has been chosen as Dean of the College of Pharmacy.
Meredith is currently the Dean at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago. Although the new pharmacy school is not yet under construction, building drafts are underway as the entire project is expected to be complete by 2018.

"I'm familiar with some of the things that need to be done in order to get a school off the ground. I'm also very very excited about educating pharmacists and particularly in an atmosphere like Binghamton which is one of the premier research institutions in the United States. I think its an excellent place to put a professional school like this and i'm very excited about being a founding dean, said College of Pharmacy Dean Gloria Meredith.

The new pharmacy school will be built on Corliss Avenue in Johnson City.
Although the school isn't scheduled to be open until 2018, Meredith says pharmacy classes will be open to students on BU's main campus in 2017.
