Jury Selection Gets Underway in Trial of Nigel Saunders
Jury selection began Tuesday in the trial of a man charged in connection with the death of a Binghamton man and the beating of his pregnant fiancee.
Police say 26-year-old Nigel Saunders took part in the killing of 23-year-old Jordan Dordell and the beating of his 19-year-old fiancee on Mygatt Street in November of 2013. Saunders was charged along with co-defendant Julian Talamantez. Talamantez has already pled guilty and was sentenced to 25 years to life for the murder of Jordan Dordell, and 15 years to life for the attempted murder of Dordell's fiance.
Four men and four women have already been chosen. Jury selection will continue Wednesday morning at 10 a-m. Saunders faces four charges including robbery and second-degree murder.
