Local Theater Decides to Show "The Interview"

Posted:
With much controversy over the release of "The Interview" after Sony was cyber hacked weeks ago and the company hesitated to release the film at all, some theaters have elected to show the movie. One of those theaters being right here in Endicott

the Cinema Saver showed the interview today, while both AMC and Regal elected not to show the film.

Those who came to view the movie today say they feel the movie is about entertainment, not political agendas.

"I thought the film handled it very well. It didn't shy away from the atrocities that are happening in North Korea. It doesn't make light of it either. Sure it's a comedy, but it handles it in a really good way. I can see why people think it's offensive, but I think those people should actually watch the movie and give it a chance," says Endicott resident, Alan Wengert.

"It's just about entertainment and enjoyment and comedy. Really, the bottom line is it's a fun movie, an escape and I think it's important for us to be able to do that when we want to," says Vestal resident Ken Foster.

Cinema Saver is the only area theatre showing "The Interview."
