Staying Motivated and Keeping Your New Year's Resolutions

A New Year means a fresh start and new resolutions. For some, those resolutions include weight loss.

According to American Family Fitness trainers, there is an increase in membership this time of year. While many people have good intentions with making new years resolutions, they may not stick to them. One trainer says losing weight and getting in shape is not a quick fix, it is a lifestyle change.

"Take the plunge. Just get here. Get here and you have to have patience. Like I said, it's not going to happen overnight, but if you're open minded and you can push yourself to have a little bit of dedication it'll happen," said Jeffrey Long, Personal Trainer at American Family Fitness.

Long says that the biggest obstacle many people face is just getting to the gym, but he says once you get there, there are many resources available to help you stick with your resolution all year.
