SUNY Broome Holds New Student Orientation

Today future students of SUNY Broome got a closer look at where they'll be hitting the books for their fall semester.

Students and parents went to the school's orientation Wednesday evening and got a chance to tour the campus.

Staff says that orientation is vital for the students so they can learn about a variety of  programs and services available on campus ,including some of the new things on site: like new student housing, and their natural science building.

Staff Assistant Admissions Office Maureen Kollar said "And so it's really great to come here and put a face to the service that's going to benefit you while you're here. I think it really helps students feel more comfortable so they know who to go to and they get to start to meet some of their future class mates too,"

Michayla Paniccia said "I'm kind of hoping that it makes me feel welcome and it's not a huge difference from high school but more free."

SUNY Broome's first day of classes start September 2nd.
